SDCCS Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2017 to generate new sources of revenue, public and private, to augment the schools’ operating budgets in ways that impact the entire school community and long term viability of SDCCS.
Since opening its first campus in 2002, SDCCS has relied in part on the financial support of its parent and community benefactors. Today, what began as a single school site is now a two-site system with nearly 800 stu-dents, two active PSAs, and dozens of regular volunteers and involved parents. With intended growth and expansion in mind, the SDCCS Board voted in 2015 to establish a foundation as a separate nonprofit organization.
The Foundation is managed by a volunteer board of directors that includes representation from both campuses and collaborates with both PSAs.
We are seeking funding to sustain essential student services and supports, address facility and equipment needs, and retain the highest caliber faculty and staff. Our priorities for fundraising are aligned with the goals identified in the school’s five-year strategic plan.
Our goal this year is to raise $50,000 to support extended day programs, counseling supports, experiential learning experiences and staff retention. The Foundation interfaces with the SDCCS Board, Executive Director, Principals, Business Manager and other key staff to focus its efforts and address the schools’ most pressing issues.
